David Best

David Best is Morgan Stanley’s EMEA Deputy Chief Operating Officer, a role he has held since 2013. David joined the Firm in 1997 and was promoted to Managing Director in 2012.

David is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a number of board appointments, both internally at Morgan Stanley and also at a variety of philanthropic organisations, including the Monteverdi Choir and Orchestra.

David is an Alumnus of the Victoria University of Manchester and a Freeman of the City of London.

On joining the Board, David said “Morgan Stanley has supported the Banking Standards Board since its inception and we have therefore been beneficiaries of the key role that the Board has played, and will continue to play, in rebuilding trust in our industry.  The BSB’s focus on a robust culture underpinned by core values is a model that Morgan Stanley wholeheartedly supports and I am therefore delighted to be joining the board”.
